During discussions with Indian External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Wang highlighted the importance of enhancing high-level exchanges and expanding collaboration across various sectors including trade, media, and culture. Wang Yi underscored the potential for China and India to work jointly in promoting multipolarity and representing the interests of developing nations on the world stage. Additionally, he reaffirmed China’s support for India as it prepares to host the upcoming BRICS summit, advocating for stronger cooperation within the enlarged BRICS framework.
On India’s part, Jaishankar expressed a commitment to fostering a positive and cooperative relationship with China. He reiterated India’s established positions on Taiwan and Xizang (Tibet), affirming India’s respect for China’s sovereignty over these regions.
