Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated 25 years of continuous public service on Wednesday with an address at the ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Sabha’ in New Delhi. Reflecting on his political journey, Modi expressed gratitude to citizens and party workers for their support, and reiterated his vision of transforming India into a developed nation by 2047.
Modi, who began his tenure as the Chief Minister of Gujarat on October 7, 2001, acknowledged the role of both supporters and critics in shaping his career. He credited the trust and support of the people as a significant source of strength, stating, “Those who brought me down taught me how to rise again.” He emphasized that while supporters encouraged him, critics taught him to introspect and learn from challenges.
The Prime Minister underlined his ambition for India to become one of the world’s three largest economies and stressed the importance of self-reliance. He called for collective efforts from citizens to achieve these goals, asserting, “For me, people are God,” and highlighting the contributions of BJP workers and others who supported his public journey.
Modi also shared his ongoing eagerness to learn, a trait he has carried from his school days in Vadnagar. “Even today, I consider myself a student,” he remarked, reflecting on his continuous pursuit of knowledge throughout his public life.
In his address, Modi highlighted India’s growing capabilities in aviation, referencing an incident involving Indian pilot Smit Machchhar and a flydubai flight. He expressed confidence that India would eventually produce its own aircraft, showcasing the nation’s advancement in this sector.
The Prime Minister concluded by urging continued collective efforts to meet the country’s development goals, emphasizing the need for a stronger and more self-reliant India by 2047.
