PM Modi, Rahul Gandhi Lead Nation in Paying Tributes to Dr BR Ambedkar on Mahaparinirvana Diwas

India observed Mahaparinirvana Diwas with solemn tributes to Dr BR Ambedkar, as national leaders—including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi—gathered at the Parliament complex to honour the principal architect of the Indian Constitution. The leaders offered floral tributes and reflected on Ambedkar’s enduring legacy of justice, equality and constitutional values that continue to guide the nation.
PM Modi and Rahul Gandhi also shared heartfelt messages on social media, recalling Ambedkar’s visionary leadership and his lifelong dedication to human dignity and democratic principles. Other dignitaries, including President Droupadi Murmu, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and several senior ministers, also participated in the remembrance ceremony.
Major observances took place at Chaitya Bhoomi in Mumbai, where lakhs of followers are expected to gather throughout the day to honour Ambedkar’s 69th Mahaparinirvana Diwas. Maharashtra’s top leaders offered their respects at the memorial, while authorities implemented extensive security and crowd-management arrangements to ensure a smooth and safe commemoration.
