Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended warm greetings to the nation on the auspicious occasion of Dhanteras, wishing everyone happiness, prosperity, and good health. In a post on X, he said, “Heartfelt Dhanteras greetings to all my family members in the country. On this sacred occasion, I pray for everyone’s happiness, prosperity, and good health. May Lord Dhanvantari bestow his abundant blessings upon all.”
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also shared his greetings, describing Dhanteras as a festival that embodies both Dharma and Artha in India’s eternal Hindu tradition. He noted that the day marks the birth anniversary of Lord Dhanvantari, the deity of health, and expressed hope that Uttar Pradesh continues to advance economically while its people remain prosperous and healthy.
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla extended his wishes as well, urging citizens to embrace prosperity, social harmony, and environmental protection. “With the blessings of Mother Lakshmi, may every home be filled with radiance and happiness, and with Lord Dhanvantari’s grace, may every individual enjoy good health and longevity,” he wrote.
Dhanteras marks the beginning of the Diwali festivities and is celebrated on the thirteenth lunar day of Krishna Paksha in the Hindu month of Aaswayuja. The day is dedicated to Lord Dhanvantari, the god of Ayurveda, and is considered auspicious for making new purchases, symbolizing wealth, health, and renewal.
