Brad Pitt is set to reprise his role as Cliff Booth in a fresh spin-off film titled “The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth,” directed by David Fincher. This new project is a continuation of Pitt’s character from Quentin Tarantino’s 2019 hit, “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.” The film will delve into the life of Booth, a Hollywood stuntman with a shadowy past, as he maneuvers through the evolving landscape of the film industry.
Quentin Tarantino, though not directing, has penned the screenplay for this latest venture. He has previously expressed a desire to avoid making his final directorial undertaking a sequel but remains enthusiastic about the continued exploration of the Cliff Booth character. Set in 1977, the film takes place eight years after the original movie, offering a glimpse into Booth’s adaptation to the new Hollywood.
The film is scheduled for a limited two-week IMAX release worldwide starting November 25, before making its way to Netflix for streaming on December 23. Joining Pitt in the cast are Elizabeth Debicki, Scott Caan, Carla Gugino, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Peter Weller, Matt Groove, JB Tadena, Corey Fogelmanis, and Karren Karagulian, promising a star-studded ensemble.
David Fincher, known for his work on films such as “Fight Club,” “Zodiac,” “The Social Network,” and “Gone Girl,” will be directing this spin-off. He brings his expertise from directing acclaimed Netflix series like “House of Cards” and “Mindhunter” to the project. This marks a significant reunion of Pitt with Tarantino’s character, albeit under Fincher’s distinct creative vision.
The original “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” featured Brad Pitt alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Margot Robbie, capturing Los Angeles in the late 1960s. With Fincher at the helm, the new film is anticipated to bring a unique perspective to the story, continuing the legacy of Quentin Tarantino’s iconic character while exploring new thematic territories.
